The Bird
Satin Bowerbirds are the builders and redecorators of the bird world. To attract a mate, the male will build a bower that looks like a vertical nest and is attached to the ground. Then comes the redecorating. Satin Bowerbirds love blue, so to attract a mate the male will collect all of the blue objects they can find- bottle tops, socks, pen lids- so long as its blue, he'll take it from you. Female bower birds will assess the males bower, the collection of blue, and his dancing before deciding if he is worthy of mating with.
We think the bowerbirds are ideal redecorators, especially if you love blue!
